Music is & should be the essence of our life. Every person has music in him. Because just when a musician plays a wrong note, a person catches it even if he in not related to music in any way. I sometimes wonder on some people who even don't have a normal tape recorder in their homes & they also are not bothered about that. That makes me think how people live without music, be it any kind of music, but it has to be a part of your life. I am great admirer of great mystics like GuruNanak, Kabir, Farid, Amir Khusro, Bulle Shah who sang each & every divine word they said. For instance the Divine Guru Granth Sahib has sayings of such mystics and has been written in 33 classical ragas. And I am thankful to the almighty who has given me this gift of voice and music and I am trying my best to make that reach the hearts of all. But it's sad that music in today's world of media, can be termed as a monetary phenomenon with minimum requirement of talent. Today as you surf through different music channels, it would be clearly visible that music has lost its seriousness, which could be seen a few decades back. Music has become a complete profession with no soul. It has a stuffed body with cold blood & lack of warmth. I am into music, into soft & tender music with an aim of reaching hearts. Still learning from everybody whom I meet in this field. Aspiring & upcoming singers sing with an aim that their song should be played in the discos & jam sessions, hence their aim is to reach the dance floors, but I make music for the souls & my destination is not the dance floor, but human hearts. I wish to give relaxation, calmness, closeness to all with sweet pains in hearts. I wish my songs make them remember their beloveds with joy & not sorrow, Only with a sweet pain in it. I am into both punjabi & hindi singing but as it is said, there is no language of hearts. My studies also help me in writing my own songs and I also have written for some private projects. With the blessings of my masters and the almighty my instrumental albums "Soft & tender" and “Real Soft”, released by Nupur audio, got fabulous response from the audiences. And now I am looking forward for my main
vocal dream project. |
